About
Mariah has been a student of yoga since 1998. As an athlete and competitive ski racer, she found yoga as a way to gain greater body awareness and mental focus. Her interest in the physical and psychological benefits of yoga was a perfect complement to her Bachelor of Science (BSC) in Health Psychology at Bastyr University and later her work as a Holistic Health Counselor.
Mariah completed her first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Ana Forrest in 2004 and graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2006. In 2010, she undertook two yoga teacher trainings with Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini in the lineage of Krishnamacharya. She then moved to Cape Town, South Africa where she became a studio owner who co-wrote and delivered Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training courses. Constantly pursuing her love of yoga, deepening her personal practice and refining her unique teaching approach Mariah most recently completed her 500-hour advanced teacher training (ERYT) with Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini in 2015, 50 hours of Laughing Lotus advanced training in 2016 and 20 hours of Katonah Yoga with Nevine Michaan in 2019.
